As we previously reported, on October 17-18, 2023, Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF), hosted in Beijing, People’s Republic of China that is considered broad platform to develop new initiatives, capacity building and opportunities for inter-regional cooperation of the participated countries.

In order to fruitful use this platform as great opportunity, enhance the aviation capacity of the Republic of Tajikistan and expand the sector services that can contribute to introducing great investment resources of the republic, Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and SUE “Tajikairnavigation” of the republic hold different leveled meetings and negotiations with Chinese aviation authority. Taking into consideration the huge capacity for intensifying Tajik-Chinese aviation cooperation and raising these relations to a new level Tajik side expressed its readiness to strengthen and enhance collaboration. The main topic of parties interest directed to launch new flights between both countries.

Increasing the number of flights and launching new flights from Dushanbe towards Beijing, Urumchi, Guanjou and Sian of China were the main themes of the meeting between Tajik and Chinese aviation sector representatives. At this point, it was highlighted that these routes will contribute to transit and other flights.

The project of the Agreement on formal cooperation and coordination between the Dushanbe Air Traffic Service Center and the Urumqi Air Traffic Service Center was presented by Tajikistan, and the Chinese side also expressed its interest in implementing this agreement. As part of the series of meetings conducted within BRF, the parties have agreed that this Agreement will be signed in December this year in Dushanbe.
