On October 2, 2026, a ceremony was hosted at JSC “Dushanbe International Airport” to unveil “Shohin Airlines” Company and its first aircraft—a modern L-410 NG regional plane named “Badakhshon”.

The event was attended by representatives from the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, airlines, industry organizations, and international partners.

Zafar Ahmadzoda, General Director of “Shohin Airlines”, opened the event and welcomed the attendees gathered for this momentous occasion. In his remarks, he emphasized that the development of the civil aviation sector and the strengthening of domestic air connections during the period of independence have entered a new phase of growth, thanks to the unwavering support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

It was noted that Head of State’s constructive policy and constant attention to the development of transport infrastructure and civil aviation have created a favourable foundation for the implementation of such initiatives. At the same time, special emphasis was placed on the key role played by the support provided by the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, in the development of the capital and the creation of favourable conditions for carrying out constructive endeavors.

Next, Habibullo Temur Nazarzoda, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, delivered address highlighting the continuous development of the country’s civil aviation sector and the achievements made since independence.

It was emphasized that, with the support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, significant measures have been implemented to develop aviation infrastructure, improve service standards, and expand air transport capabilities. According to him, introduction of modern L-410 NG aircraft—which are well-suited to the geographical features and conditions of Tajikistan’s mountainous regions is of particular importance for developing regional flights and strengthening domestic air connections.

Artem Movsesyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors & CEO of OMNIPOL Group, then delivered a speech, sharing his vision for industry cooperation and the prospects for further developing partnerships in the aviation sector.

This was followed by the presentation of the first aircraft for “Shohin Airlines”—L-410 NG named “Badakhshon”. Attendees inspected the aircraft and had the opportunity to examine its technical specifications, passenger amenities, and design features firsthand.

L-410 NG is a modern regional aircraft designed to carry 19 passengers and a crew of two pilots. Developed for regional operations, it is capable of flying in diverse conditions, including mountainous terrain. According to official data, the aircraft can operate from relatively short runways—a crucial capability for local airports in the mountainous regions of Tajikistan.

Naming the aircraft “Badakhshan” also aligns with the goal of developing domestic air travel and strengthening transport links between the country's regions.

The acquisition of the L-410 NG aircraft marks a new stage in “Shohin Airlines” operations, establishing a favourable foundation for launching scheduled passenger services, expanding the route network, and unlocking new opportunities in regional air travel.

Thus, the unveiling of “Shohin Airlines” first aircraft is viewed as a significant step in the development of the country’s civil aviation and the strengthening of domestic air links, demonstrating the expansion of regional transport capabilities and the enhancement of the national fleet with modern aircraft.
