STATE VISIT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN
On the evening of October 8, the President of the Russian Federation, Honorable Vladimir Putin, arrived in the Republic of Tajikistan on a state visit.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, warmly and sincerely welcomed the
distinguished guest as a sign of high respect.
In honor of the state visit of the distinguished guest, the Dushanbe International Airport was decorated with the state flags of the two
countries, photos of the Heads of State and slogans praising the friendship of the peoples of the two countries.
A red carpet was laid out for the welcome, and soldiers of the guard of honour lined up on both sides of the carpet.
During a short conversation held at the airport, the heads of the two states, Honorable Emomali Rahmon and Honorable Vladimir Putin, exchanged views on the program of the state visit of the President of the Russian
Federation to Tajikistan, participation in the Central Asia-Russia Forum and the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
It should be noted that tomorrow, October 9, the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Vladimir Putin, to
Tajikistan will continue, and in the afternoon the Central Asia-Russia Summit will be held.
The meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS participating countries will be held on October 10.
Russian President Vladimir Putin laid flowers at the monument to the founder of the Tajik state Ismail Somoni as part of his state visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.
He was accompanied at the wreath-laying ceremony by Tajik Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda and other officials.
The main events of the visit are scheduled for Thursday morning. The heads of state are expected to hold meetings in a one-on-one and expanded format. The signing of agreements are expected to be signed..
Following the talks, a press conference will be held by the leaders of Tajikistan and Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will also take part in the second Central Asia-Russia Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
