The specialist of the Aviation Meteorological Center of the State Unitary Enterprise “Tajikairnavigation” is taking part in the ICAO Workshop on System-Wide SWIM Implementation for PT/EAST States in the field of meteorological services of civil aviation, which is held from July 1, 2025, in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting is being attended by the Special Project Group on the Implementation of Meteorological Services, which operates under the auspices of the ICAO Regional Office for Europe. This is the Twenty-Third meeting of the Project Team on Implementation of Meteorological Services in the Eastern Part of the EUR Region ICAO (PT/EAST/23), and this year it will be held in cooperation with Working Group 4 of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) for CIS. The event is attended by representatives of the ICAO Regional Office for Europe, aviation and meteorological specialists from Eastern Europe and CIS countries.

The purpose of the workshop is to explain the process of implementation of air navigation meteorological service provision according to the Global Air Navigation Plan and to disseminate knowledge on modern methods of approach to meteorological information exchange. Also to discuss key issues of meteorological flight support development, exchange practical experience and identify optimal solutions aimed at improving flight safety and air navigation service system in the region.

It should be noted that system-wide information management (SWIM) is the main digital model of air navigation data management in civil aviation. The system involves the exchange of air navigation data, including meteorological data, in the framework of the global air traffic organization system.

The event, which will last until July 4, 2025, will be an important step in the development of international cooperation in the field of aviation meteorology.
