On the eveningof October 9, following his return from Turkmenistan, the President of theRepublic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon,together with the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic ofTajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, His Excellency Rustam Emomali, laid thefoundation stone for the construction of a new international terminal buildingat Dushanbe Airport.
During the presentation of the new internationalterminal project, it was noted that the facility would be built in compliancewith all modern international standards.
The modern terminal will have the capacity to serve8.5 million passengers per year.
The construction period has been set at one and a halfyears. The facility will be built using high-quality construction materials andwith the involvement of hundreds of experienced specialists.
The aim of the new facility is to ensure a highstandard of passenger arrivals and departures in accordance with internationalrequirements while reflecting the welcoming traditions and hospitality of theTajik people.
During the site visit, PresidentEmomali Rahmon instructed the airport management and other responsibleofficials to ensure high-quality construction work and complete the newterminal within the established timeframe, so that it can be commissioned asscheduled.
