On August 31, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in the Chinese city of Tianjin, participated in the welcoming ceremony for the heads of delegations participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
The President of the People's Republic of China, Honorable Xi Jinping, welcomed our Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, at the Meiji International Center, and then a joint photo session of the heads of delegations and a concert program were held.

Our Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, expressed gratitude to the Head of the host country, China, Xi Jinping, for organizing the meeting at a high level and for the sincere hospitality.
President Emomali Rahmon assessed the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in developing cooperation among member states as significant and considered it necessary to further expand reliable political dialogue to achieve constructive goals.
“We consider it important to develop cooperation in priority areas of the economy, including transport and transit, energy, industry, agriculture, innovation and digitalization,” - said the President of our country, Emomali Rahmon.
Our Head of State considered the measures of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to enhance transport infrastructure and develop the country's hydropower potential.
Tajikistan's opportunities for attracting investment in the development of industry, the establishment of modern enterprises for the processing of mineral resources and the agro-industrial sector were presented.
Taking into account the potential of Tajikistan's natural environment, the Head of State called on the participants of the forum to engage in extensive cooperation in the field of tourism, in particular, ecological, archaeological and medical tourism.
When analyzing the situation in ensuring regional security, cooperation between the Organization's member states was considered necessary in the joint fight against terrorism, extremism, separatism and radicalism in all its manifestations, as well as against cyber threats, illicit drug trafficking and other types of transnational criminal activity.
It was emphasized that the agreements on the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Anti-Drug Center and the Universal Center for Combating Security Risks and Threats of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States, signed today, open up new prospects for cooperation between states in the above-mentioned areas.
The Leader of the Nation expressed gratitude to the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States for their support for the decision of the Council of Heads of State to establish the Organization's Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe.
It was noted that in order to expand multilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism and its sources of financing, the "Dushanbe Process on Countering Terrorism" is being actively promoted at the initiative of Tajikistan and with the support of the United Nations.
The President of our country, Emomali Rahmon, once again confirmed the firm and unwavering position of Tajikistan in resolving the difficult situation in the Middle East and other war-torn countries.
The President stated that negotiations and dialogue are the only way to resolve all crises and conflicts.
In the cultural sector, strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation with new educational and social projects was considered an important task.
In this regard, the partners were invited to participate in the Youth Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries, which will be held in Tajikistan next year.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, recalled the global initiatives of our country, including in addressing the problems related to drinking water and glacier protection, and emphasized that “Tajikistan has been advancing global issues related to water resources, climate and sustainable development for more than twenty years, including the international platforms “Dushanbe Water Process” and “Dushanbe Glacier Preservation Process”.
The promotion of Tajikistan’s initiative to adopt a special resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on the proclamation of the “Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations” was called a continuation of our country’s humanitarian measures.
The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, stressed the need for close cooperation between the countries of the “Shanghai Cooperation Organization Family”, the United Nations, regional partner organizations, and other interested parties.
The accession of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic as the fifteenth dialogue partner of the Organization was welcomed.
At the end of the meeting, 15 new cooperation documents were adopted, including the Agreement on the establishment of the SCO Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe.

On September 2, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the People's Republic of China, Honourable Xi Jinping in Beijing.
The meeting discussed a range of issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China, including relations within the framework of international and regional organizations, with great focus on the agenda of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The President of our country, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that "We highly appreciate your worthy contribution, Mr. Xi Jinping, to the expansion of multifaceted cooperation between our countries."
It was highlighted that, despite the difficult geopolitical conditions, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is making its contribution to ensuring security and stability and expanding beneficial interstate relations.
Our Head of State, stressing support for the new initiative of the President of the People's Republic of China, “Global Governance”, stated that this initiative is consistent with the continuous efforts of the Tajik side to ensure the rule of law, complete peace, security, and sustainable development, and has great potential for promoting our common goals.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the improvement of cooperation tools in the “Central Asia-China” framework.
Great attention was paid to the issues of further enhancing cooperation in all areas that meet the interests of the peoples of the two countries, including economic and trade, digitalization, modernization and development of transport infrastructure, logistics, use of transit opportunities, and attracting Chinese investment and technologies to the Tajik economy.
The establishment of information and technological service centers (Data centers), strengthening cybersecurity, and the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies were named as other areas of strategic cooperation.
Cooperation between the two countries in the field of hydropower was also named as a priority.
The expansion of interregional cooperation was considered to be in line with common interests.
The development of relations in the fields of culture, education, science and technology, and tourism was considered appropriate.
It was emphasized that both countries have similar positions in ensuring security and combating modern threats and challenges.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship and sincerity.

On September 3, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, together with the President of the People's Republic of China, Honorable Xi Jinping, and other heads of state, participated in the ceremonial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people over Japanese militarism and the end of the Second World War on Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

Before participating in the grand military parade, a commemorative photo session of the heads of state was held.
The ceremonial gathering was attended by heads of state and governments of 26 countries.
A group of war heroes and veterans also held a place of honor at the venue of the event.
The grand military parade, which was prepared in a unique and unprecedented manner, featured units of China's strategic land, naval, and air forces, as well as a large number of modern military equipment from various units of the country's army.
