On August 26, 2025, as part of his official visit to the city of Astana, the Chairman of the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, laid a wreath at the “Defenders of the Fatherland” memorial as a sign of respect for the history and unity of the people of Kazakhstan.
During the wreath-laying ceremony, the Chairman of the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Deputy Akim of the city of Astana, and other official representatives.
As part of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali, held a meeting with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev.
The talks began in a restricted format and continued in an expanded format. The parties discussed the current state and future development of bilateral relations, interparliamentary ties, and exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues.
Expressing his gratitude to the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament for the invitation to pay an official visit, Rustami Emomali emphasised the Tajik side’s interest in maintaining a high level of friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of strategic and allied relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan and highly appreciated the significant contribution of the heads of the two states, Emomali Rahmon and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to strengthening this process.
The signing of the Treaty on Alliance Relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan was noted as important.
At the meeting, interparliamentary ties were identified as one of the key areas of relations between the two states. Both parliaments have established mutually beneficial cooperation on a permanent and high-quality basis, playing an increasingly important role in strengthening trust between the states.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues on the global and regional agenda, and the parties supported the continuation of constructive cooperation between the two states in strengthening borders and jointly countering transnational threats and challenges.
As part of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rustam Emomali conveyed the warm and sincere messages and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honourable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan were discussed. Satisfaction was expressed with the steady development of all aspects of the friendly and fruitful relations between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, including the expansion of constructive interparliamentary cooperation.
After the meeting at the Ak Orda residence, a ceremony was held to award the Chairman of the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, with a state award of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For his significant contribution to strengthening friendly and strategic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the development of interparliamentary ties, the Chairman of the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, was awarded the Order of Dostyk (Friendship) II degree. The state award was presented to Rustam Emomali by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who emphasized his notable contribution to the development of good-neighbourly relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries. The Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for the high recognition of his services and for bestowing the state award.
In the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, visited the international technopark Astana Hub in the city of Astana.
It is reported that Astana Hub is one of the largest international technoparks for IT startups in Central Asia.
This initiative was established in 2018 with the aim of supporting and developing technology companies from Kazakhstan and other countries, as well as creating favourable conditions for the implementation of innovative activities in the field of information and communication technologies.
